Rubber and plastic seals usually include two types: rubber seals and plastic seals. These two types of seals may differ in function and application:

Rubber seals: Rubber seals are usually made of natural rubber or synthetic rubber and have good softness, elasticity and corrosion resistance. They are often used in applications requiring higher elasticity and sealing properties, such as automotive engines, piping systems, mechanical equipment, etc. Some common rubber seals include O-rings, flat washers, rubber gaskets, rubber seal strips, etc. The main function of rubber seals is to create a reliable seal to prevent liquid, gas or dust from leaking through connections or interfaces. They play a vital role in ensuring the normal operation of equipment, extending its service life and improving work efficiency.

Plastic seals: Plastic seals are usually made of synthetic plastic materials, such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), etc. They usually have good chemical resistance and shape stability, and are suitable for some special application scenarios, such as chemical industry, food processing, etc. Some common plastic seals include O-rings, gaskets, sealing strips, plastic hose seals, etc.

Both types of seals have advantages and disadvantages in engineering design and application, and it is important to select the material and type that suits the needs of a specific application.

Is it harmful to the body?

For most people, ordinary rubber seals are safe under normal use and usually do not cause direct harm to the human body. However, some plastics may contain chemicals that are harmful to human health, such as BPA (bisphenol A), which is of concern. Therefore, when using rubber and plastic products, it is best to choose products that meet relevant safety standards and avoid prolonged exposure to high temperature environments to reduce potential chemical release.
